What is OMA?

It is the term used for (The Omani Medical Association) and (Oman Medical Association), which is a non-profit organization proclaimed by Ministry of social affairs, labour and vocational training in 2002.

Who can join this association?

The registration to our website and be a member of Oman Medical Association, is granted to anyone who fits following conditions:

a- Active members;

Must be Omani citizen.

Must have an academic qualification in medical science recognized by specialized authorities in Oman.

Must be a good conduct.

To undertake in writing to respect the Omani laws and the association’s principles and ethics.

b- Associated members; for those who are non-Omani buy hold an academic medical qualification approved by authorities in the Sultanate. Those members will have all the duties and rights as active members except the right to vote, elect or to be nominated.

c- Honorary members; the board of director have the right to grant the honorary members to any person who provide a great service to the nation, the medical service, or the association. The ministry should be notified before granting the membership and the member will be exempted from the membership regular procedures and the fees.

  

How much is the fees to be a member in this association and its societies?

The cost is 40 OMR to be paid annually and it is valid till the end of December of each year where you need to renew with the same amount of 40 OMR. Also, you can register to a maximum of 2 societies where there is a fee for each society to be paid annually and renewed at the beginning of each year as well.

 

What will happen in case I registered and paid but I find out that I am not eligible to be a member in OMA?

It is your responsibility to check if you are eligible for the membership as per terms and conditions, and you are required to ask us if you are not sure about your eligibility to be a member through contact us. If you paid and we found out that you are not eligible, we will unfortunately substract some money from the refunded money, please read cancellation and refund return policy.

What are the privileges of being a member in OMA?

It is the only registered medical association in Oman and it gathers all doctors, nurses, midwifes, interns, and medical and nursing student working in Oman. The membership will give a privilege to register for workshops and conferences organized by OMA association with less price compared with other participants. Also, free legal support are available for the members for cases related to their career.

 

Is there a physical location of the association?

Yes, it is locate in Al Manahel street beside Said bin Taimor mosque in Al Khuwair, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Map is in contact us section.

 

What are the office hours of the association?

You can visit us between 8 am to 5 pm at weekdays only from Sunday to Thursday. But you can contact us any time through our other contacts like email and call.
