The General Assembly meeting of the Oman Medical Association

The General Assembly meeting of the Oman Medical Association was held at the Grand Millennium Hotel, in the presence of members of the Board of Directors, representatives of the scientific societies affiliated with the association, and a number of its members.
The association’s Board of Directors made visual presentations during the meeting. Dr. Waleed bin Khalid Al Zadjali, President of the association, gave a presentation on the association’s administrative report, and also reviewed what was accomplished during the year 2023 through a set of goals and action plans. He mentioned that there has been an increase in the number of doctors joining the association’s membership, and the registration for membership has been activated through the association’s website. Dr. Waleed also reviewed the achievements of affiliated scientific societies, and also mentioned that we currently have about 47 such scientific societies.
Professor Rashid bin Khalfan Al Abri, Vice President of the association, also reviewed the most important achievements of the association at the professional and scientific levels, especially the specialized training programs that were implemented during the year 2023. He also shared the current updates regarding the launch of the international scientific journal of the association (Journal of the Oman Medical Association, JOMA). He explained the important aspects related the journal and stressed the significance of cooperation of all scientific societies in this initiative. Meanwhile, Dr. Mahmood bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, the Treasurer of the association, reviewed the summary of the association’s financial report for the year 2023, and the financial statements included in the auditor’s report.
During the event, the annual meeting of the scientific societies affiliated with the association was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the presence of all members of the association’s Board of Directors, heads and representatives of the scientific societies, and a number of experts from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
During the meeting, Dr. Waleed Al Zadjali, the President of the Oman Medical Association, made a visual presentation where he discussed the objectives and specializations of the association, in addition to reviewing the most important achievements of the association over the past period. In addition, he reviewed the role of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in adopting the conference and exhibition tourism projects. He also discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and the Oman Medical Association and it scientific societies in the domains like medical and health conferences at the local and international levels.
